On Saturday 11th August,2018 , a team of 15 members visited Wamo Children's Home located in Kawangware, Nairobi(Kenya). This is home to 53 children, 33 girls and 20 boys who come from destitute backgrounds, orphaned/ partial orphans who have had either or both of their parents pass on by the catastrophic endemic HIV/AIDS. We were able to provide them with basic needs entailing food items and clothing.
We prepared meals with them as a way to bond with them and also teach them on doing household chores. It was a time to share with them our experiences and relate them with theirs and at least put a smile on their faces.
Other activities included Counselling, playing games and dancing with them.
Below is a snapshot of the engagements we had with them.
Special thanks to Ken, who is the manager of the home. He has done a lot and sacrificed to make sure that these children have a roof over their heads and eat at least. May you be blessed and continue with your compassionate work of putting smiles on these children.
